Memorial Hall Library

A nostalgic identity for local readers

As book lovers, we jumped at the chance to work with a local public library. It was incredibly fulfilling to work on a project where the only goal was to better serve the community; enriching them with free resources, art, activities, and of course, books!

Identity Design
Collateral Design

Evolving the logo

The logo design was a wonderful evolution of the library’s current design, this time using the iconic Andover building’s cupola as the bookshelf.

Attention to every detail

We developed a full, scalable design system; inspired by some of our favorite books from childhood. From naming the brand colors to designing the bookmarks, every detail was crafted to help the Memorial Hall Library connect with a new generation of readers.

Adding motion and sound

Motion and sound design communicate a brand essence in a way that can’t always be conveyed by graphics and copy alone. We wanted to capture the grounded, tactile experience of shelving a library book; one that brings to mind the smell of paperbacks and the quiet hum of the stacks.
